Wilson's fame spread into the US during 2014 when she was a guest as a character on Showtimes The Affair. Wilson in an interview with British Vogue back in 2015 stated that she was enjoying acting in two distinct perspectives. Noah views Alison with a confident reckless and sexy manner. She sees herself in completely differently, which from the inside is dowdy as well as in the shadows, trying not to be noticed. The actress said "I consider that America is such a moralistic country and that they are too critical. What happens in the show appears like a shocking scene."
